Weird folks
People from around here are a bit weird. When we were frantically (which later on be better described as desperately) looking for an apartment/house/townhome we would call the numbers posted and we never heard from the people who was renting out their places. Out of the 20 places we called and emailed probably only 25% responded back, and that's being generous. Galit yata sila sa pera. I couldn't understand why they weren't returning calls. Was it because we had an out of state number?? Seriously, these folks are weird.

A start of something good
A few days ago, little Rachel started showing signs of being interested in the toilet. I saw her trying to lift her bottom to get up onto the toilet. It made me think that maybe we can start potty training her. So, I grabbed to baby toilet seat, placed it atop the toilet, pulled down her diapers and sat her up. She was quite happy to be sitting on the seat. I told her does she want to go pee-pee. She repeated the word and was pointing down the toilet. Then she started pointing to the tissue paper so I gave her some and she tried to wipe down there. I know it might sound gross to you, but, she's probably seen mommy do this countless of times.
I've been doing this routine the past 3-4 days. Today, I did our little routine, she now grabs the baby toilet seat and hands it to me. I sat her down and again told her to go pee-pee. A few seconds later, I heard a light tinkle, I looked and true enough she was peeing. I of course shouted in excitement and Rachel squealed along with me and we gave each other a big hug as she tinkled. I gave her a couple of pieces of tissue paper and she wiped and dropped the paper down the bowl. And since it was her such a momentous step for her I let her flush and watch the pee-pee go down the drain. Ahhh, we were both so proud. Hehehe.

Back to School
That is where Monster is going. He was a dog school dropout. His trainer didn't show his face again after he's tried numerous times training him. sigh.
This last weekend, we had placed him in a kennel since we visited the hubby's family in D.C. When we got back yesterday, the kennel told us not to bring Monster back unless he is less aggressive :( In, short we got kicked out of the kennel. Damn those people. Don't they know how to handle difficult dogs?
In our guilt, shame and sadness, we went to Petsmart to get him treats to re-train him again. Luckily, their pet trainer was there and we did a curbside consult. The diagnosis, he has separation anxiety. She said she didn't see any signs of aggression, just anxiety. Actually, she was spouting Cesar Millan phrases. She must be a fan. I confess, I am not a pack leader to Monster.
So we will be signing up Monster for the weekend classes with her and probably hiring her on the side for private at home diagnosis and training.

Information Blackout
I'm just stealing some time at work and using the Internet. We still do not have Internet or cable at home so I have no idea what is going on with the world. Hopefully, by the end of the week things will be in place.

Still on the move
We are finally in Pennsylvania. I finished work in Alabama on Tuesday, after work, Rachel and I hopped onto a plane and headed towards Pennsylvania. Carlos on the other hand had left a couple of days before and drove a U-haul. By the time we got to Pennsylvania, he had a full day looking frantically for an apartment/townhome/single family home.
By Wednesday, I started work at my new job. There is no rest for the weary. Actually, I really planned it that way. Sayang naman ang pera since with my last job, I get paid only if I work. Pang-deposit rin yun sa rental.
So anyways, I just wanted to check in my blog and inform everyone that we have arrived safely in Pennsylvania, but still iving in a hotel until we get everything settled with the rental. Will re-post again in detail.
